Valparaiso is about 1.5 hours from Santiago. If the weather in Santiago reminded me of Los Angeles, then the weather in Valparaiso is so much like San Francisco, along with many houses on the hill side, windy but never gets too hot or too cold.
This is a neat town, especially for us who just visited modern and developed Santiago. Valparaiso is famous for its colorful houses on the hillside and graffiti arts over the streets. It's vibrant, lively and unique. You can get lost in this town pretty easily with all the hidden allies and stairs.
Where we stayed
Casa Galos Hotel & Lofts
We stayed total of three nights at Casa Galos Hotel & Lofts. It is located on the hill side of Valparaiso.
Casa Galos Hotel & Lofts is close to all the actions in town, boutique shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and tourist attractions.
The hotel has a very natural organic design. The finishes and decor are super tasteful. The room is spacious and is equipped with a kitchen, which is a huge plus. The staffs are super kind and friendly. They provided us with tips of what to see in the area and recommended different routs to tour the town. On our departure day, we had to catch an early morning flight in Santiago, the hotel staff was so thoughtful to bring us a prepared breakfast the night-before so we can heat it up in the morning.
My favorite place to be at Casa Galos is it's rooftop terrace. It provides a 360 degrees view of the town. Simply relax, with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on had and watch the world go by.
